Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — Global coal demand is projected to soften toward the end of this decade as it faces mounting competition from alternative energy sources, including renewables, natural gas, and nuclear power.
According to the International Energy Agency’s latest report, Coal 2025, released on Wednesday (12/17/2025), global coal demand is expected to increase by 0.5% in 2025, climbing to a record 8.85 billion tonnes.
